Unlike standard bowed rolls with rotating sleeves, this type uses a non-rotating, fixed curved bar—typically wrapped with a stretchable covering—and relies on web tension and contact to achieve effective spreading. It is particularly effective for delicate, low-tension, or sensitive webs.
